7 phrases that will make your business emails sound native

Business Spanish is more formal than English. These seven phrases will instantly upgrade your emails — even at B1.

English business email is direct. Spanish business email is warmer and more formal — and the gap surprises a lot of professionals who write fluent Spanish in person.

Here are seven phrases that I teach in week one of Spanish for Business:

  1. Espero que esta semana esté yendo bien. — A warmer "I hope you're well".
  2. Tal y como hablamos… — "As discussed…", but smoother.
  3. Quedo a la espera de tu respuesta. — "Looking forward to your reply" (formal).
  4. Si te parece bien… — "If that works for you…", a great softener.
  5. Aprovecho para… — "I'll take this opportunity to…", to add a second topic.
  6. Cualquier cosa, me dices. — "Let me know if anything comes up".
  7. Un saludo cordial. — A safe formal sign-off.

Use two or three of these in your next email and watch your tone shift instantly.
